Jews in TTRPGs - Introduction

Hello all! Thank you for joining me on this interesting series of articles I’ve lovingly entitled “Jews in TTRPGs”. This idea came from my desire to highlight Jewish people in the TTRPG community. With Hanukkah 2022 upon us, this seems like a great time to highlight our people.

I intended this to be a single article and I would highlight the Jewish game designers I already knew (Shoutout to Brain Trust Discord). That one little tweet got a wee bit viral and I was introduced to several new folds of Jews within the TTRPG space, many of which I had never heard of.

Release Schedule

With 38 Jews and counting that I want to feature across an array of categories, I decided to embark on the “Jews in TTRPGs” series. As of now, there will be four articles that will release during Hanukkah:

1. Designers - Part 1 (Yes, there will be multiple parts!)
2. Content Creators
3. Activists and Ephemera
4. Designers - Part 2

Future topics will include:

• Podcasts and Publishers, including an interview with Madness Heart Games, a publisher that specifically focuses on Jewish games.
• More TTRPG designers
• TTRPG artists? Hit me up if this is you!

Final Thoughts

Please join me in this quest to meet all the cool Jews that I can! I have my work cut out for me, so that’s it for now. There’s a Trader Joe’s babka waiting for me and I must attend to it.
